WHY CHOOSE SCCWPTS?

ATTITUDE
I consider each and every one of you who use my services to be a client, not a customer. A customer purchases a good or service and the relationship ends there. As my client, we will have an ongoing relationship. I will always be available to assist you in any capacity possible. You will receive a monthly contact from me, advising you of items of interest to CWP holders - such as links to informational web sites, changes in my goods or services, notifications of class schedules any other information I feel may be of interest to you.

PHILOSOPHY
I believe that it is my purpose to give you the best opportunity to qualify to apply for a South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit. Most of our time together will be spent in the classroom. As required by state law my course contains information as to when and where you can apply deadly force and claim self defense as well as a live fire proficiency. I am not an attorney, so I cannot and will not give legal advice. I do not teach tactical shooting, there are instructors who specialize in that discipline. If you desire to become a marksman I will help you find a coach. I will work with you to improve your shooting skills but it is impossible for me to present the material required and help you perfect your shooting skills in the time allotted.

APTITUDE
I have been a firearms enthusiast for over 40 years. I have been a SC CWP Instructor since 1997.

Realizing clients have different learning styles, my small class size allows me to accommodate each client. As noted in my FAQs, I will re-mediate any client once at no additional charge.

 I have never had a client fail to qualify to apply for a South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit.

ACCURATE INFORMATION
During my time as an Instructor I have had the opportunity to interface with many Law Enforcement Officials and CWP holders who have attended other Instructors programs. There are a multitude of courses being offered. I have had clients travel from as far away as Hilton Head to attend my course.

Unlike some other Instructors in the area, I will never require you to perform tasks or exhibit skills that are not required by the Regulations. Likewise I will not compromise my integrity by requiring less of you than what is mandated by the Regulations.

South Carolina Concealed Weapon Training Solutions specializes in small group instruction. My maximum number of clients per session is 10. I am NOT a SC CWP "Permit Mill" but a serious subject training service. I pride myself on quality, personalized instruction. Referrals are available upon request. I collect feedback from clients who desire to give it.
See the REFERRALS tab at the left for what some of my clients have to say about SCCWPTS;

I provide two scheduling options;
1) I hold an open enrollment class on the second Saturday of each month, limited to 10 clients. This class is held in Langley, SC at the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge.
2) I will come to your location to deliver the training on any Saturday or Sunday (other than the second Saturday, my open enrollment date). All I require is a group of 2 to 10 clients. I will tailor instruction for special groups or occasions.

All necessary materials are provided - SC CWP applications, helpful information sheets, fingerprint cards, firearms, ammunition, targets, holsters, hearing and eye protection. All of my equipment is of highest quality and ideally suited for this type shooting. I will assist you in completing all the necessary forms. At this time I do not provide the fingerprinting service. I will provide fingerprint cards and offer referrals for this service.  Improper or inadequate fingerprinting is the #1 reason for application rejection by SLED.

The cost of the course is $100 per person. When I come to you the client provides a place to meet, lunch and if possible a place to shoot. If no on-site range is available, I have access to several local private ranges.

I use is the RugerTM Mark II pistol. The pistols, magazines, targets, holsters and ammunition provided are standardized. This standardization greatly reduces range time and enhances the course experience. All participants perform exactly the same procedures, in exactly the same sequence, at exactly the same time. This reduces confusion to a minimum, allowing everyone to concentrate on the task at hand and enjoy the training session.
You will be given an orientation session on the safe & correct operation of the handgun, choose your pistol from the variety that are available, choose your holster and load your magazines. All this will take place in the climate controlled classroom, minimizing your time spent at the outdoor range.

I also offer a basic handgun course. The fee for the basic course is $65. This class is geared toward the inexperienced shooter or a new gun owner who wants to get off to a safe, fun start. If the two courses are combined, the fee is reduced to $150.

I also offer specially tailored classes to meet your specific needs. Please check my FAQs page.
